Sempre que me desloco ao Cacém, verifico que na área envolvente da estação ferroviária na rede móvel da Altice Portugal / Huawei o meu Nokia E71 e o meu realme X50 Pro 5G quando vão em 2G acampam sempre nos 1800 MHz em vez dos 900 MHz, tendo os 1800 MHz uma qualidade de sinal pior que o dos 900 MHz.
Possivelmente será por uma questão de capacidade.
O valor C1 indica a qualidade do canal de rádio. Quanto maior o valor de C1 melhor o canal. O valor do C2 é baseado no valor de C1, através do CRO, o valor do C2 pode ser ajustado.
Assim, o valor do C2 pode ser calculado de acordo com CRO (Cell Reselect Offset), TO (Temporary Offset) e PT (Penalty Time) a fim de preferir seleccionar a célula no processo de re-selecção.
Ou seja, na rede dual band, há vários parâmetros que influenciam o valor do C2 que podem ser definidos para tornar o valor C2 do DCS 1800 maior do que o do GSM 900. Portanto, mesmo que a intensidade do sinal da célula DCS 1800 seja mais fraca do que a da célula GSM 900, o MS ainda pode acampar no DCS 1800 com o auxílio desses parâmetros.

It is possible to make the phones compatible (including feature phones) is to force Cell Broadcast activation and the channel configuration via a small applet on the SIM card.
There is an option though to make CB interative (ICB – Interactive Cell Broadcast) with an addition of a small dedicated applet on the SIM card. This way, delivery reports are available but more importantly, the alert message might be interactive allowing citizens to respond, should they need help, together with sending their location by a single click.
